Meeping began in spring 2019 as a joint project between lead Rachel Zakrasek, bassist Jake Pettit and drummer Daniel Baltazar, before the group welcomed lead guitarist Julia Mahncke in fall 2019. Meeping's first album released December 2019, and they toured Japan in February 2020.
